KATHMANDU: Six Nepali junior players are set to represent the country in the pre-qualifying round of the World Junior Tennis Competition (WJTC) to be held in Vietnam.
The tournament, featuring the Under-14 age group, will see three boys and three girls competing under the Nepali flag.
In the boys’ category, Sabhyajung Karki, Bishwabishesh Dallakoti, and Aryashraj Poudel will represent Nepal. In the girls’ section, Sara Pant, Era Khatri, and Sworah Thapa have been selected for the national squad. The team will be coached by Kumar Adhikari.
The girls’ competition is scheduled to take place from March 2 to 7. The girls’ team, along with the coach, will depart on Friday. Meanwhile, the boys’ event will be held from March 9 to 14, with the boys’ squad scheduled to leave on March 6.
The team was officially bid farewell on Thursday by Ram Charitra Mehta, Member-Secretary of the National Sports Council, amid a special program.
