Sudurpaschim Royals Advance to NPL Season 2 Final, Beating Biratnagar Kings by 77 Runs

Kathmandu. Sudurpaschim Royals have secured their place in the final of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) Season 2 after a dominant 77-run victory over Biratnagar Kings in the first qualifier held on Tuesday.

Chasing a target of 156 runs set by Sudurpaschim, Biratnagar were bowled out for just 78 runs in 14.1 overs. Opener Faf du Plessis top-scored for the Kings with 36 runs, while the rest of the batting lineup collapsed under tight bowling.

For Sudurpaschim Royals, bowlers Harmit Singh, Abhinash Bohara, and Scott Kuggeleijn each claimed two wickets, while captain Dipendra Singh Airee and Hemant Dhami picked up one wicket apiece.

Earlier, after losing the toss at the TU Cricket Ground, Sudurpaschim batted first and posted 155 runs for 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

With this victory, the Sudurpaschim Royals have booked their spot in the NPL Season 2 final scheduled for Saturday.
Biratnagar Kings, however, still have another chance to reach the final, as they move to the second qualifier, where they will face the winner between Kathmandu Gorkhas and Lumbini Lions.
