Sudurpashchim Royals Secure 6-Wicket Victory in NPL Second Match of the Day
Kathmandu—Sudurpashchim Royals continued their dominant run in the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) with a convincing 6-wicket win in the second match played today.
In the match held on Saturday at the TU Cricket Ground, Sudurpashchim chased down the target of 147 runs in 17.4 overs, losing only 4 wickets in the process. Earlier, Janakpur Bolts had posted a modest total of 146 runs, losing 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Janakpur Bolts had won the toss and elected to bowl first. With today’s victory, the Sudurpashchim Royals remain unbeaten in the tournament. They now sit at the top of the points table with 5 wins from 5 matches.
The Royals started their campaign with a 29-run win over Kathmandu Gorkhas, followed by an 18-run victory against Pokhara Avengers. They continued their momentum with a 45-run win over Karnali Yaks and a 7-wicket win against Lumbini Lions. Today’s triumph against Janakpur Bolts marks their fifth consecutive win.
For Janakpur Bolts, this was their fourth match of the tournament. They are yet to register a win, having suffered a 5-wicket loss to Kathmandu Gorkhas in their opening match, followed by defeats to Biratnagar by 9 runs and Pokhara Avengers by 25 runs.
