ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2: Gulshan Jha gives Nepal the first breakthrough, USA lose opener Smit Patel
Dubai (UAE) — Nepal struck their first blow in the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 match against the USA, as Gulshan Jha dismissed opener Smit Patel for 16 runs.
The breakthrough came in the 10.3rd over, when Patel was trapped lbw by Gulshan Jha. Patel scored 16 runs off 27 balls, including one six, before heading back to the pavilion.
With his wicket, USA’s score reached 53/1, as Nepal finally broke the opening stand.
Shayan Jahangir remains at the crease, looking well set to anchor the innings.
This early breakthrough has given Nepal a much-needed boost as they look to apply pressure on the American batting lineup.
