Kathmandu, June 29, 2025 — Nepal’s elite ultra runner Rassila Tamang achieved a remarkable feat on Sunday, winning the Mount Popa Ultra Marathon held in Myanmar. Competing in the grueling 50 km trail run, Tamang not only secured the women's title but also outpaced all male participants to finish first overall in the race.

In the same race, the top male finisher, Paing O, took 7 hours, 38 minutes, and 42 seconds, almost an hour and 20 minutes behind Rassila. In the women’s category, Yee Yee secured second place with a time of 9 hours and 9 seconds, while Sarah Seng came in third.
In the men’s division, Jack Speed and Aung Tun Lin finished second and third, respectively.
With this win, Rassila Tamang has officially qualified for the ATM Championship Final to be held on October 4, 2025, in Vietnam. Speaking after the race, Tamang expressed her joy, stating, “Winning the overall title means a lot to me. I’m truly happy with my performance.” She also praised the organizers for managing a well-structured and professional race.
