Kathamndu, In the opening game of Group D's women's football competition at the 19th Asian Games, Nepal was defeated by Vietnam. The Vietnamese team defeated Nepal by a score of 2-0 in the game played in Hangzhou, China, on Friday. Both teams played a goalless draw in the opening period.

Vietnam, however, took a two-goal lead over the opposition in the second half of the game after scoring its first goal in the 53rd and its second goal in the 64th minutes.
On September 25, Nepal will play its second game against Japan.
