Bengaluru (Agency) – In the 34th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secured a sensational 5-wicket victory over Gujarat Titans. Chasing a formidable target of 206, RCB crossed the finish line in 18.5 over at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Friday night, fueled by brilliance from Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal.

Virat Kohli’s Historic Milestone

RCB’s icon Virat Kohli laid the foundation for the chase with an explosive 81 runs off just 44 deliveries, featuring 8 boundaries and 4 towering sixes. During this innings, Kohli etched his name further into the history books, becoming the first player in IPL history to hit 800 fours. Additionally, he became the first batter to smash 300 sixes for a single franchise.

Kohli found a perfect partner in Devdutt Padikkal, who played a blistering knock of 55 runs from just 27 balls. While RCB looked comfortable at 141/1 in the 13th over, a flurry of middle-order wickets added some late drama to the contest. However, Krunal Pandya (23*) and Tim David (10*) remained composed to seal the win with 7 balls to spare.

Sai Sudharsan’s Century in Vain

Earlier, after being put in to bat, Gujarat Titans posted a massive total of 205/3. Young sensation Sai Sudharsan was the star for the Titans, smashing a magnificent century. His 100-run knock came off just 58 balls, decorated with 11 fours and 5 sixes.

Captain Shubman Gill contributed 32 runs, and a late cameo from Jason Holder pushed the total past the 200-mark, but it ultimately proved insufficient against the "Kohli Storm."

RCB Climbs the Points Table

With this victory, RCB has leaped to the second position in the points table, tallying 10 points from 7 matches. Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans remain in the lower half of the table with 6 points.
