KATHMANDU, July 21, 2025 — The Lumbini Lions have officially unveiled their brand-new logo, offering not just a visual identity but a meaningful blend of culture, heritage, and national pride. The logo serves as a symbolic representation of the team’s spirit and the sacred land from which it draws its name.
Speaking at the launch event, Ishwar Bahadur GC, Chairman of the Lumbini Lions, said, “This logo doesn’t just showcase our team’s strength on the cricket field—it celebrates the glory of Lumbini itself. Born from the sacred land of Buddha, this team roars on the field and puts Nepal on the world map.”
He emphasized that the logo is more than a design—it’s a statement. “Lumbini Lions have woven together sport, culture, and national pride into one meaningful symbol,” he added.
The logo prominently features cultural and historic elements central to Lumbini’s identity:
The Maya Devi Temple, the birthplace of Lord Buddha
The Ashoka Pillar, erected in 249 BC by Emperor Ashoka
The red color and the moon and sun, inspired by the Nepali flag, symbolize patriotism
Golden lettering, representing the eternal peace flame that continuously burns in Lumbini
Founded in 2024, the Lumbini Lions are preparing to enter the Nepal Premier League with fresh energy and ambition. With this new emblem, the team aims to carry forward not only Nepal’s sporting identity but also Buddha’s timeless message of peace and unity.
As they gear up for a new era of cricket in Nepal, the Lumbini Lions stand as a fusion of tradition and modern ambition—where culture truly meets cricket.
