Women's Asia Cup: Sri Lanka beat Pakistan by 1 run

Sylhet, Excellent performance by the bowlers helped Sri Lanka beat Pakistan by 1 run in the second semi-final played today to enter the final of the Women's Asia Cup, where they will face India on October 15. Batting first, Sri Lanka scored 122 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Chasing the target of 123 runs, Muniba Ali and Sidra Amin gave the Pakistani team a quick start and added 31 runs for the first wicket in 3 overs. Muniba was run out in the fourth over. He scored 18 runs in 10 balls with the help of three fours. However, Baz Amin also became the victim of Inoka Ranavira after scoring 9 runs on a total score of 47. From here the run rate of Pakistan slowed down. Although skipper Bismah Mahroof and Nida Dar struggled for Pakistan, both of them batted at a slow pace, for which the team had to bear the brunt. Mahroof scored 42 runs in 41 balls and Nida Dar scored 26 runs in 26 balls. Pakistan's team could only score 121 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs.

For Sri Lanka, Inoka Ranavira took 2 wickets for 17 runs and Sugandika Kumari and Kavisha Dilhari took 1-1 wickets.

Earlier Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first. The Sri Lankan team scored 122 for 6 in 20 overs thanks to small innings from Harshita Madavi (35), Anushka Sanjeevani (26), Nilakshi de Silva (14) and Hasini Perera (13). Nashra Sandhu took 3 wickets for Pakistan and Aiman Anwar, Nida Dar and Sadia Iqbal took 1-1 wickets.

The final match of the Women's Asia Cup will be played on October 15, in which Sri Lanka will face six-time champions India.
