ACA Senior Men’s T20 Friendly Series: Assam Defeats Nepal by 15 Runs (DLS Method)
FULUNG, August 28, 2025: In the ongoing ACA Senior Men’s T20 Friendly Series, the Nepal Senior Men's A team faced a 15-run defeat against the Assam Senior Men's Cricket Team in a rain-affected match today at the ACA Cricket Academy Ground in Fulung. Nepal had won the toss and opted to field first.
The match was reduced to 8 overs due to rain, with Nepal setting a target of 80 runs via the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method.
Assam's Innings:
Despite losing early wickets, Assam posted a formidable total of 190/8 in their allotted 20 overs before the rain interruption. Sumit Ghadigaonkar was a standout with 34 runs off just 16 balls. Avinav Choudhury contributed an unbeaten 26 runs off 7 balls, while Akash Sengupta remained not out with 24 runs off 8 balls. Rohit Sen scored 24 runs off 15 balls, and Sumit Kashyap added 22 runs off 26 balls.
Nepal's bowlers had a challenging outing, with Akash Chand claiming 3 wickets for 52 runs. Bibek K Yadav took 2 wickets for 32 runs, and Kamal S Airee also picked up 2 wickets for 35 runs.
Nepal's Innings:
In response, Nepal could only manage 64/3 in their 8 overs, falling short of the revised target. Subh Kansakar was the top scorer for Nepal with an unbeaten 33 runs off 21 balls. Anil Sah contributed 20 runs off 14 balls.
For Assam, Mrinmoy Dutta, Abhilash Gogoi, and Avinav Choudhury each picked up a wicket.
This match is part of a five-match T20 friendly series between Nepal's 'A' team and Assam, aiming to provide valuable exposure and experience to Nepal's emerging cricketers. The series continues with the next match scheduled for tomorrow, August 29th, also at the ACA Cricket Academy Ground.
