Biratnagar,  Biratnagar City has entered the final of the 7th edition of the Birat Gold Cup football tournament.

In the first semi-final match held under lights this evening at Shaheed Stadium, Biratnagar City defeated Jawalakhel Youth Club by 2 goals to 1.

Stefan Bangnal and Abhishek Gurung of Biratnagar scored to ensure a victory of the home team while Hisub Thapalia scored the consolation goal for Jawalakhel.

Stefan Bangnal of Biratnagar City was declared the man of the match. He won Rs 11,000 in cash.

The second semi-final match will be held on Tuesday evening between Luca Soccer Club of Kerala, India and the title holders, APF, the departmental team of Armed Police Force.

A total of eight teams from Nepal, India and Bhutan are participating in the Gold Cup.
