Nepal beat Hong Kong in the T20I series

Kuala Lumpur, Nepal defeated Hong Kong by six wickets in the ongoing four-nation T20 series in Malaysia. Nepal completed the target of 85 runs given by Hong Kong at the Vayumas Oval Cricket Ground by losing 4 wickets in 5 balls in 15 overs. In Nepal's victory, Smadana Khadka played an unbeaten inning of 36 runs off 36 balls. For the team, opener Puja Mahato scored 16 and captain Rubina Kshetri scored 10, while Sita Rana Magar remained unbeaten on 3 runs. Bowling for Hong Kong, Iqra Sahr, Mariko Tabitha, Bibi Mariam and Ka Ying Chan took equal 1-1 wickets each.

Earlier, batting first, Hong Kong were all out for 84 off 19 overs. Apart from Ka Ying Chan scoring 34 and Sing Yan Dorothea Chan scoring 16 for the team, the others failed to score in double figures. Sita Rana took the most 5 wickets for Nepal with 16 runs in 4 overs. Indu took two wickets. Kavita Kunwar, Pooja Mahato and Rubina took one wicket apiece.

Nepal are playing a four-nation T20I series in Malaysia for their T20 World Cup qualifier tour. The series features participation from Nepal, Malaysia, Kuwait and Hong Kong. Nepal will play their second match against Kuwait on August 23.
