Nepal Defeats ACT for Second Consecutive T20 Victory in Australia

Kathmandu, August 26 – Nepal continued its winning momentum in the T20 practice series in Australia, registering a second consecutive victory over the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) team.

In the second match held on Tuesday, Nepal secured a comfortable 6-wicket win. Earlier the same day, Nepal had defeated ACT by 41 runs in the first game of the double-header.

Chasing a modest target of 97 runs, Nepal reached the total in just 13.2 overs, losing four wickets in the process.

All-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee was the star of the innings, scoring an unbeaten 42 runs, while Gulshan Kumar Jha contributed 23 runs, and Aarif Sheikh remained not out on 11.

For ACT, Isham Rahman took 2 wickets, while Louis Evans and Dev Dubey claimed one each.

Earlier, after losing the toss and being asked to bat first, ACT was bowled out for just 96 runs in 17.2 overs. Their top scorers included Nick Broers (16), Jack Keogh, Mickey McNamara, and Tom Hogan with 15 runs each, and Jake Smith with 10.

Nepal's bowlers delivered an impressive performance, with Dipendra Singh Airee and Shahab Alam taking four wickets each. Captain Rohit Kumar Paudel and Gulshan Kumar Jha took one wicket apiece.

This series is part of Nepal’s preparation for upcoming international tournaments, with the team looking to fine-tune its squad and strategies in Australian conditions.
