Nepal defeats Ireland 'A' in the Twenty20 series
Kathmdnu, In the second game of the two-match T20 series that is now taking place in the capital, Nepal has defeated Ireland A. Nepal has thus won the series 2-0, adding to their victory in the opening game.
Nepal beat Ireland A by 71 runs in today's second match of the series. In the opening game, Nepal had trounced the visitors by six wickets.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat first in today's encounter at the TU cricket ground in Kirtipur, Nepal amassed 198 runs in the allotted 20 overs at a cost of seven wickets. Top scorer Gulshan Jha scored 46 runs in 32 balls.
Similar scores were achieved by Kushal Malla (34 runs in 13 balls), skipper Rohit Kumar Paudel (33 runs in 24 balls), Kushal Bhurtel (25 runs), and Sandeep Zora (21 runs).
Ben White claimed two wickets, Finn Hand and Gavin Hoy each claimed one wicket, and Matthew Foster of Ireland 'A' claimed three wickets for the bowling side.
Ireland could only muster 127 runs in reply, losing every wicket in 18.3 overs. Ireland's leading run scorer with 26 runs was Stephen Doheny.
Kushal Malla and Sompal Kami shared three wickets apiece for Nepal, while Bivek Yadav, Kushal Bhurtel, and Karan KC each claimed one wicket.
