Nepali Athletics Team Departs for India to Compete in Indian Open World Athletics Bronze Continental Tour
Kathmandu, August 6 – A 14-member Nepali athletics team, including 12 athletes, departed for Odisha, India on Wednesday to participate in the inaugural Indian Open World Athletics Bronze Continental Tour, scheduled for August 10.
The team includes seven male athletes: Aadesh Kumar Yadav, Sombahadur Kumal, Mukesh Bahadur Pal, Salim Dewan, Dilli Khatri, Rohit Chaudhary, and Prakash Danuwar. Five female athletes will also compete: Kalesi Chaudhary, Narayani Bhandari, Sima Kumari Chaudhary, Chandrakala Lamgade, and Purnalakshmi Neupane.
The team is accompanied by two officials, Shivalal Acharya and Anil Rudra Kumar Chaudhary.
A farewell event was held on Wednesday, where National Sports Council Member Secretary Tanka Lal Ghising and Nepal Athletics Association General Secretary Sanjiv Tuladhar extended best wishes to the departing team.
According to Athletics Association Secretary R.K. Bista, athletes from 19 countries are expected to participate in this international event.
